Orcs

Orcs on the charge

Orcs are green humanoids that dwell in isolated areas all over Mythos. The largest population is located in Western Emiria.

Physiology[]

A typical Orc stands about six feet tall, although seven feet is not unheard of. They have greenish skin and black hair. Males have large tusks which stick out from their lower jaws, used to intimidate rivals.

Orcs are generally stronger than humans.

Relatives[]

Orcs are part of a family of hominids called "Goblinoids." Other members of this group include Goblins and Kobolds.

Sapience[]

Although brutish and bestial, Orcs are sapient beings.

Culture[]

Orcish culture is violent, centred around killing and carnage. Good warriors are not measured by courage, but by sheer number of kills.

Younger Orc warriors may abduct prisoners to "play" with: basically, the abductee is beaten senseless for a few days until their death.

Society[]

Orcs exist in a large series of tribes and clans, each lead by a Chieftain or Clan Leader. The leader of the tribe rules absolutely. After his death, males will compete for the right to become the next one.

Females are kept in their villages, in the harems of the most powerful warriors and the chieftain. They are generally treated like slaves. In rare cases, females of other species such as humans will be placed in these harems.

History[]

Orcs are an ancient race, elder than humans. However, they have always been savages. The first Orcish raid took place in the year 124, and was committed against a small human village. Since this day, Orcs have gained a reputation as powerful raiders and warriors. They have pushed their armies as far as possible into Emiria. Once, the Orcs succeeded in fighting their way to Ironhall. However, their attack was repulsed by the native Dwarves.

Recently, Orc attacks have become more common and violent on the Western border.
